Refund Policy

1. What Your Booking Includes

Your booking covers park entrance fees, safari vehicle, expert naturalist guide, and meals and refreshments as described on the tour page. Gratuities for your guide and driver are not included and are appreciated at your discretion.

2. Cancellation — Outside-Park & Day Safaris

3. Cancellation — Inside-Park Bungalow Stays

When You Cancel	Refund
9 weeks or more before departure	Full refund, less non-recoverable DWC permit and booking fees already paid
Less than 9 weeks, at least 5 days before	50% of the total tour cost
Less than 5 days / no-show	No refund

Inside-park stays depend on limited DWC bungalow allocations, so the refund windows are longer than for day safaris.

4. Date Changes

Outside-park tours: one free reschedule if requested more than 30 days before departure. Changes within 30 days incur a $50 per person fee, subject to availability.
Inside-park bungalow stays: date changes are not available as standard. If a change can be accommodated, it requires a fresh booking and a new 30% deposit, as DWC permits must be re-issued. The original deposit is not transferable to the new dates.

5. Cancellation by Us

If we cancel your tour due to weather, park closures, or safety concerns, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, or the option to reschedule at no additional cost. We are not liable for additional costs such as flights or hotel bookings affected by the cancellation.

6. Park Closures & Force Majeure

If Wilpattu National Park is closed by the Department of Wildlife Conservation, or if weather or other circumstances beyond our control prevent the tour, we will offer a free reschedule or a full refund. Where only part of a tour is affected, we will provide a pro-rata refund or credit.

7. Partial Services

If you leave a tour early for personal reasons, no refund is provided for unused portions. If a tour is shortened due to circumstances within our control, a pro-rata refund or credit will be provided.

8. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method. Refunds exclude any processing fees charged by your bank or payment provider. Bank transfer refunds may take additional time depending on your bank.

9. How to Request a Refund or Change

Email bookings@wilpattutours.com or message us on WhatsApp with your booking reference and reason. Please include your name and travel dates so we can locate your booking quickly.
